Our Web Commissioning Process
Although what we do is complex and difficult, there’s no reason why it should be hard for our clients to understand. Our five step methodology shows the key points of implementing a web site.

1. Free Consultation
Our products include everything from simple contact forms to powerful e-commerce systems, so to discover your priorities we’ll ask you lots of questions about the business, your customers, what you want from a web site, and how you see the business developing at various key times.
2. Preliminary Designs
At this stage we’ll produce some designs to show you how your site will look based on the information you’ve provided. We want to get it right first time, and we’ve found that meeting and exceeding expectations as early as possible in the design process increases customer satisfaction and cuts down on unnecessary (and potentially costly) remedial work at a later date.
3. Feedback & sign-off
When we’re ready to put our name to the designs we’ll send them to you for approval. We want you to be completely satisfied with our work so we’re are quite prepared to make any necessary amendments you suggest. We only put the site into full production once the final version has been agreed.

To facilitate this stage of the process, in particular for clients who aren’t local to our offices, we use the ConceptShare system, allowing you to comment on our work, view designs in progress, and interact completely with the design process.
4. Testing & validation
All Interconnect IT sites are written with a view to meeting rigorous W3C standards - that’s why we put a validate link on every footer, allowing you to see where our sites conform… and even if they don’t. Before your site goes live we test it on a huge range of browsers and screens and deliberately run the technologies behind the site at levels which far exceed their anticipated load to ensure they are capable of supporting even the most demanding levels of site traffic. As soon as we are sure that the site is ready for use, your site will be published and you will be up and running.
The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is a body headed by the web’s inventor, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, which sets rigorous standards in order to help ensure that web sites work exactly as they should. Websites that adhere closely to these standards are the least likely to have compatibility and accessibility problems.
5. Feedback & ongoing support
We know that abandoning you as soon as your site has been handed over is a quick way to lose friends and irritate people, which is why we are there for support and assistance long after your site goes live. We will enable you to use your site to its’ full potential to ensure that your investment becomes a powerful source of sustained competitive advantage for many years to come, and we will maintain high levels of dialogue with you to encourages a lasting and fruitful partnership.
