Software Development Policy

Interconnect IT Ltd will often be requested to develop software for clients. As is common in the industry this software will often be based on open-source software that is generally available. Open-source means that the code is freely available - it does not mean that the software has to be supplied free of charge. What it does mean is that the client can always see the code and that this code may be redistributed. An example of this is our website - it’s based on the Wordpress platform with extensions added by us in order to present information in the way we choose.

In all software that we modify or create for a client we will always make available the code to the client along with handover documentation which will allow the client, should they so wish, to use other IT services companies.  The only charge will be for our time and involvement in the handover.
